🎬 RP Workshop: Body Language, Fate and Sound
How to stop "writing scripts" and start creating living scenes

Roleplay is not a race for loot or a chat roulette. It's collective cinema, where everyone has their own supporting role for another's story. The project values nuances and respect for the partner's timing. For your scenes to be memorable, rather than making someone want to hit "Skip," you need to master three main actor tools: body (/me), circumstances (/do), and luck (/try).

💡 Important reminder: Trust the server automation. The local scripts have already created a realistic backdrop for you — no need to describe every elevator button press or steering wheel turn. Focus on emotions and interaction.

In this material:
✅ Command architecture: /me, /do and /try with live examples
✅ How to paint a picture in the listener's mind with your voice
✅ The golden rule of "Freedom of reaction" for your opponent
✅ Top mistakes that give away a newbie

📝 Actor's toolkit: /me, /do, /try
Forget about dry statements of facts. Every line of text is a brushstroke.

  • []/me — your physical "self" in the frame. Facial expressions, gestures, gait. (Format: Firstname Lastname action)
[]/do — what the camera operator sees. Interior details, weather, physical state of objects. (Format: Description/Question ((Answer in /do)))
  • /try — a coin in the hands of fate. When the outcome depends not only on your desire, but also on chance or environmental resistance.

Example of a narrative link:
/me nervously tapped the pen cap on the table, not taking his eyes off the person who entered.
/do The pen leaves shallow scratches on the lacquered surface. The tapping echoes through the quiet office.
The scene stopped being an empty dialogue, rhythm and tension appeared.

🎙️ Voice as a special effect
The project prioritizes live communication. Text commands /me and /do are needed for what cannot be conveyed through the microphone.

✅ Principle of "Complementing, not duplicating":
Voice:
(with a slight hoarseness, tired) "Pour it. And don't ask."
/me: ran his palm over his face, momentarily covering his inflamed eyes.

❌ Common failure:
Voice:
"I'm very angry!" (in a normal tone)
/me: shouted that he was very angry.
➡ This is not RP, it's subtitles for bad voice acting. The other player gets lost: should they trust their ears or their eyes?

🎭 The art of detail in /me and /do

1. Cinematic quality instead of bureaucratic language

Bad: /me drank coffee.
Better: /me took a sip, winced at the bitterness and pushed the mug away.
We learned about the taste of the coffee and the character's mood without a single word.

2. Physics and external factors in /do
Use /do to connect players in one space.
/do From the street comes the growing sound of rain and a clap of thunder.
/do The corners of the interlocutor's eyes twitch slightly — a sign of suppressed anger or fear.
Now the dialogue takes place in a specific stormy night, and the opponent received a silent description of their state (if it was played out earlier).

3. /try — Fair play with unpredictability
Never take away another player's ability to react. If you're trying to knock an object out of their hands, dodge a slap, or hold a falling shelf — this is the domain of /try.
Bad (Powergaming): /me grabbed the pistol from the opponent's holster and aimed it at them.
Properly: /try attempted to sharply intercept the barrel of the opponent's weapon, deflecting it to the side.
➡ The system will say Successful or Unsuccessful. On failure, you play out the consequences. That's fair.

⚙️ Trust but verify: Automation
Server mechanics cover 90% of everyday interactions. Your task is to fill the remaining 10% with emotions.

📋 What the game already does (repetition is the mother of learning):

· Treatment of injuries and surgery (hospital script);
· Handcuffing and escorting (police script);
· Using tools (lockpicks, mechanic kits);
· Vehicle movement and accidents.

If you write /me pressed the gas pedal — you are breaking immersion. The car moved not because you wrote it, but because you pressed W. Better write /me gripped the steering wheel with a death grip, his knuckles turning white — and press W.

🚫 Red flags in roleplay

❌ Rude mistake✅ Healthy alternative
Metagaming in /do
/do He has a knife in his pocket.
(How does your character know this if they haven't searched him?)
/do During movement, a barely perceptible metallic jingling is heard from the jacket pocket.
(You describe a sign, let the player draw the conclusion.)
Abuse of passive voice
/me was hit.
/me took the hit, jerking his head to the side.
Lack of freedom to maneuver
/do He got scared and recoiled.
/do The gaze is directed straight at him, creating psychological pressure.
(The fear reaction is played by the opponent themselves, if they deem it necessary).

🏆 Result: The formula for a living scene

To make your sessions memorable, keep a simple formula in mind:
Voice (Meaning) + /me (Gesture) + /do (Atmosphere) + /try (Fate) = GREAT RP

Checklist for every dialogue:

✅ Did I say the phrase with voice and an emotion that can be heard?
✅ Does my /me show what cannot be heard through the microphone?
✅ Does my /do add context for those around me?
✅ Did I leave my partner the right to a response?

Don't forget that for every RP roleplay you must have evidence, ideally it should be a video.
