How to Secure Your Roleplay (RP) Project Account

Roleplay servers often involve significant time investment and sometimes in-game currency or items purchased with real money. Protecting your account is crucial. Here are the essential steps:

1. Use a Strong & Unique Password

* This is the most important rule. Don't reuse passwords from other sites (especially email or social media).

* Combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols (e.g., R!v3rV4lley_St0ne#2026).

* Avoid using easily guessable information like your character's name, server name, or birthdate.

2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

* Check if the RP project offers 2FA. This is usually done through an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy.

* With 2FA enabled, even if someone steals your password, they won't be able to log in without the temporary code from your device. It's your strongest layer of defense.

3. Secure Your Email Account

* Your game account is only as secure as the email it's linked to. If a hacker gains access to your email, they can use the "password reset" feature to take over your game account.

* Make sure your primary email has a strong, unique password and that you have also enabled 2FA on it.

4. Beware of Phishing and Scams

* Never click on suspicious links sent to you in Discord, Telegram, or in-game chat, even if they appear to be from admins or friends. Their accounts could be compromised.

* Official staff will never ask for your password. Be extremely cautious of fake websites ("phishing") designed to look like the official server page or forums. Always double-check the URL in your browser's address bar.

5. Keep Your PC Clean

* Run reputable antivirus and anti-malware software. Some malicious programs (keyloggers) are specifically designed to steal gaming credentials.

* Keep your operating system and drivers updated.

6. Don't Share Your Account

* It might seem obvious, but never share your login details with anyone, not even a trusted friend who wants to "help you level up." You lose all control once the password is out of your hands.

Following these steps will dramatically reduce the risk of losing your character and everything you've worked hard for.
